Media Specialist

Van came from Vietnam to Nebraska in 1984 as a refugee. He then worked as a social worker in Seward County Community College’s Refugee program, where he helped several Southeast Asian immigrants adjust to their new lives in Kansas. Van received numerous hours of training in mental health, counseling, and crisis prevention. He has also served on various advisory boards.

In 1990, Van joined the independent Asian television station, KTSF Channel 26. As an Associate Director of New Media and Political Specialist, he helps business owners and politicians plan their TV advertising campaigns. In early 2023, he retired from his successful career of 30 plus years at KTSF-TV. Van has been on APA’s board of directors for over 15 years. He currently serves on the Program committee.
