Live & Love Healthy Day
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and National Children’s Dental Health Month. We held an outreach event "Live & Love Healthy Day" on February 21 at the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA. About 40 came by. The children received free books and balloons from a magic show and had lots of fun playing games.

On display were domestic violence exhibits focusing on (teen) cyberbullying and dating violence; and we set up different tables for information and resources on family support, family oral health, mental health, nutrition, parent-child bonding and community resources.

We took the opportunity to spread the word about the 2020 Census.

In addition to APA Family Support Services, "Live & Love Healthy Day" community outreach event was supported by Asian Pacific Islander Family Resources Network, City and County of San Francisco, First 5 San Francisco, DOSW, La Casa de las Madres, San Francisco District Attorney's Office, and San Francisco Police Department.

Our thanks to the above organizations as well as SCDC (Samoan Community Development Center), Wu Yee, SF Dept of Elections and SF’s District Attorney’s Office- Victim’s Services Unit for tabling at this event.
