On Board
A warm welcome to Rick Yuen who joined our Board of Directors in July. He was the Judicial Officer and is Assistant Dean Emeritus at Stanford University. Rick’s Stanford career started in 1989 as the first full time Dean and Director of the Asian American Activities Center where he created student resources to enhance mentoring, leadership and innovation with undergraduate and graduate students. He also served as the Dean overseeing freshman class council activities. In 2005, Rick was appointed Judicial Officer to provide outreach and to investigate alleged violations of the University Honor Code and Fundamental Standard. He sought to resolve cases utilizing student/faculty hearing panels as well as early resolution options.

Rick currently serves in a variety of community-based nonprofit organizations and continues to volunteer as a reading buddy for a first grader in a San Francisco public school.

He is excited to be able to share the leadership with APA’s Board, working to provide essential resources to children and their families.
