Fanny Lam

Fanny Lam is a cross-sector executive and community advocate who brings 18 years of international experience in finance, law, governance, and operations to the social impact sector. As Executive Director of APA Family Support Services (APAFSS), she integrates private-sector rigor with community-based leadership to strengthen culturally responsive services for under-resourced families across San Francisco.

Fanny's connection to APAFSS spans nearly a decade — first as a volunteer board member since 2016, and since 2022 as Executive Director. That continuity of commitment has shaped her leadership: she brings not just professional expertise, but a deep, long-standing understanding of the organization's history, community relationships, and mission.

Since stepping into the executive role, she has led APAFSS through significant growth and transformation — expanding services across behavioral health, food security, economic stability, and language access; achieving Medi-Cal certification; leading one of the most comprehensive strategic planning processes in the organization's recent history, resulting in a robust FY2024–2029 five-year plan; and earning Community Champion Awards from the San Francisco District Attorney's Office in 2025 and the Bank of San Francisco in 2026.

Fanny serves as Co-Chair of the API Health Parity Coalition, a member of the San Francisco Health Improvement Partnership Steering Committee, and on the SFDPH Community Health Improvement Plan Committee. She is a member of the Community Advisory Board of the California Association of Food Banks, a Planning Commissioner for the City of Rohnert Park, and Board Treasurer for Portsmouth Plaza Parking Corporation and Pacific Environment.

Prior to nonprofit leadership, Fanny served as Director and Spokesperson for a private equity firm in Hong Kong, overseeing investments in publicly listed companies and managing commercial real estate portfolios. She applies that financial discipline and strategic oversight to nonprofit growth, public accountability, and long-term community resilience.

Fanny holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London.
