Last month, our community came together to celebrate 39 years of APA Family Support Services — and what a celebration it was! We're overflowing with gratitude for everyone who helped make this milestone so special.

Summer's winding down, but the excitement is just getting started!

APA Family Support Services recently held our Back to School backpack distribution, putting new backpacks and stationery supplies into the hands of students across our community. The smiles said it all — a fresh backpack and school supplies can make all the difference in starting the year off feeling confident and ready to learn.

We were honored to welcome Governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom for a visit highlighting CalKIDS — the college savings accounts so many California kids already have, often without their families even knowing it.

Behind every service we provide is a team that needs to feel safe, supported, and prepared — so this month's staff meeting was about investing in exactly that.

The past two weekends, our team hit the streets to connect with neighbors where they already were — first at the Nihonmachi Street Fair in Japantown, then at XLCR Excellence Community Days in the Excelsior.

Neighbors, parents, and longtime residents filled the room for a community roundtable with Congressman Kevin Mullin and District 11 Supervisor Chyanne Chen, hosted at our Excelsior Family Resource Center on Mission Street.

We celebrated our community moms, those who recently gave birth and those expecting, with love, gifts, and connection.

We are thrilled to share that a new free food fridge has arrived at our Excelsior Family Resource Center at 4377 Mission. Huge thanks to a community partner for donating a commercial refrigerator and to ExtraFood for keeping it stocked with fresh, rescued surplus food.

For nearly 19 years, a little bus named Miss Daisy rolled through San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood — taking seniors to the grocery store, carrying residents to field trips, and becoming one of the most recognized vehicles in the community.

We were honored to table at the Chinese Real Estate Association of America (CREAA) 2026 Bay Area Home Expo and connect with so many wonderful community members.
