Today Chinatown Family Resource Center hosted a joyful Thanksgiving Celebration at City College of San Francisco – Chinatown/North Beach Campus, filled with laughter, delicious food, and family fun! APAFSS wishes everyone a warm and happy Thanksgiving!
An Unforgettable Fall Charity Concert – “A Night of Music and Hope”!
During the evening, Tri-City Nightingale generously presented a $2,028 check to APA Family Support Services and another to the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office Women’s Resource Center in support of services for survivors of domestic violence.
Exciting New Partnership with The SF Market!
Starting in November, every week we will receive fresh, surplus fruits and vegetables rescued from the historic San Francisco Wholesale Produce Market (a program that’s recovered over 10 million pounds since 2016!).
Our team sorts and redistributes this produce directly to the families we serve in the Excelsior and beyond — turning potential waste into healthy meals and big smiles.

Our APA Family Support Services team gathered in one of San Francisco’s most treasured places, the amazing Presidio. We received an inspiring briefing on the Presidio’s proud history and ongoing transformation—from its days as a military post to becoming one of the country’s most successful national park sites.
Shaping Solutions at the Inaugural Children, Youth, & Family Summit
Alongside Mayor Lurie, 11 city departments, 80+ nonprofits, supervisors, and philanthropic partners, we explored how coordinated investments, better nonprofit jobs, and truly integrated education, housing, health, and family support services can transform outcomes for every child and family.

Growing Our Impact: Internship Program Expands to Serve More Families
To address the growing need for culturally responsive behavioral health services among Bay Area children, youth, and families with limited resources, we launched an internship program in 2017 in partnership with local colleges.
APAFSS Unveils Landmark Excelsior Hub for Asian Families
APAFSS just opened its new permanent Excelsior Resource Center at 4377 Mission St. Under visionary leaders Fanny Lam and Rose Chung, APAFSS now can serve more communities with parenting workshops, diaper banks, domestic violence prevention, and more in 8 languages.
What a Spooktacular Day in Visitacion Valley!
Last week, APAFSS and the community celebrated for a Halloween Parade! Families, kids, and neighbors of all ages dressed in fun costumes filled the streets with laughter and joy. From superheroes to princesses to tiny ghosts, everyone showed up and showed OUT!
