Growing Our Impact: Internship Program Expands to Serve More Families
To address the growing need for culturally responsive behavioral health services among Bay Area children, youth, and families with limited resources, we launched an internship program in 2017 in partnership with local colleges.
APAFSS Unveils Landmark Excelsior Hub for Asian Families
APAFSS just opened its new permanent Excelsior Resource Center at 4377 Mission St. Under visionary leaders Fanny Lam and Rose Chung, APAFSS now can serve more communities with parenting workshops, diaper banks, domestic violence prevention, and more in 8 languages.
What a spooktacular day in Visitacion Valley!
Last week, APAFSS and the community celebrated for a Halloween Parade! Families, kids, and neighbors of all ages dressed in fun costumes filled the streets with laughter and joy. From superheroes to princesses to tiny ghosts, everyone showed up and showed OUT!

Mi Casa Su Casa: Hispanic Heritage Night
Visitacion Valley Strong Families (VVSF) proudly hosted Mi Casa Su Casa (Hispanic Heritage Night) — an evening dedicated to celebrating culture, community, and connection. The event opened VVSF’s doors to community-based organizations (CBOs), clients, and residents of the Visitacion Valley neighborhood, creating a vibrant space filled with resources, laughter, and cultural pride.

This past Saturday, October 4th, our team had the amazing opportunity to participate in two wonderful events: the Richmond District Autumn Moon Festival 2025 and the Sunset Autumn Moon Festival & Health Fair!
At both festivals, we set up a resource table to share valuable information and resources about the programs and services our agency provides to the community. We loved connecting with so many neighbors and families to talk about how we can support one another!
