Community in Action: Assembling Care Kits for Moms

12/3/2025

Today APA Family Support Services joined a fantastic corporate volunteer event to assemble care kits for moms. Each kit includes diapers, hygiene items, wet wipes, and a practical backpack—small essentials that make a big difference. The employees’ enthusiasm was contagious; they were thrilled to learn how these supplies help parents who are struggling to afford diapers and other basics for their babies.

We’re especially grateful for our long-standing partnership—over a decade—with Help a Mother Out, which powers our diaper distribution and ensures families get what they need, when they need it.

A recent example: a 20-year-old single mom caring for her 8‑month‑old daughter has been moving between temporary places while waiting for stable housing. With postpartum depression and tight finances, even diapers felt out of reach. Through our counseling, basic-needs support, and free diapers, she found immediate relief from financial pressure and could focus on bonding with her baby. These kits—and partners like Help a Mother Out—help turn worry into hope.
